Rough Cut 2
The second rough cut shows our whole song but includes a lot of gaps which we need to fill. It also includes our new footage from the arcades where we filmed at. More shots have been added to show some more thought beats but there still needs to be more added. For the final cut i plan to add some white flashes during some shots to show more thought beats.

Photo Shoot Contact Sheet
The first two photographs which are circled in red on this page are possibly going to be used on the final digipak. They need editing using Photoshop if they are going to be used in the final piece as they both need cropping and brightening up.
The photograph at the bottom of this page which has been circled mainly stands out to me and i think this could maybe used on our advert and digipak.
The photographs taken using bubbles turned out really well. The ones i have circled are our most successful ones. The second photograph circled on this page stands out the most. It is really interesting and i like the way she is looking up to the bubbles whilst blowing them at the same time.
We tried a different idea with these photographs by adding a mirror into it. Some of them were successful but i don't think these kind of photographs would be seen on a digipak with the genre pop.
I don't think the final photographs on this page are going to be used for our digipak because of the angle they have been taken from and actions that are happening in each photograph.

Rough Cut 1
This is our first rough cut which shows 1:30 seconds of our filming. Upto now it has turned out ok but some refilming needs to be done and there needs to be more cuts to the beat known as thought beats. At the beginning these thought beats as shown really well as it changed from the boy to the girl but once the song starts with lyrics the pace needs to be shown more by the use of editing with different shots. Some of the lip sync is also out of sync so this needs to be matched up. However, i think one of the shots is wrong as the girl is singing the words too slow so this needs to be refilmed. Later on in the song, some of the shots that have been taken in the restaurant are too dark so can't be used because brightening them up doesn't work as it looks too different to the rest of the shots in the restaurant.

Hannah's Shot Count Activity
The video I have chosen for my shot count is Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘It’s always a good time’ this fits into the genre of pop which is my groups choice of genre for our own music video. Jepsen is typically a pop artist, most famous for the song ‘Call me maybe’ released in February 2012 reaching the number one spot in over 19 countries. Owl City however can be fitted into the genre of electronic/powerpop, which is similar to pop, with ‘Fireflies’ hitting the pop singles chart in July 2009.
The video ‘Its always a good time’ has approximately 128 camera shots which range from a close up to a tracking shot. For this activity I watched a music video of my choice, which was of the same genre as my coursework, and counted how many times there was a different shot. Stereotypically pop songs will always have close up of the artists this coincides with Goodwin’s theory which states that the industry (pop) all music videos will have ‘Star image’ this is a good way of selling the product to the target audience. The pop genre stereotypically will have very upbeat music, which has thought beats to match; thought beats are where the music matches the edit. In this music video there are lots of thought beats such as in the forest on the night when the music gets very upbeat the edit gets faster and more jumpy just like the dancers.
Hannah's Magazine Advert Analysis
The advert I have chosen to analyse is for Katy Perry's album 'One Of The Boys' including the hit single 'I Kissed A Girl'. I have chosen this advert because it has the characteristics of the genre of pop featured and also the artist is part of the pop genre. In this advert the artists name is clear and brightly shown at the top right of the advert this is a man focus for people looking at the advert. The bright colours used for the name and the font used reflects the fun aspect of the advert. The style of the font is the trademark for the artist Katy Perry, this shows the artist wants to project a fun and happy image with all of her work. The mise en scene of the advert suggests innocence with the use of the paddling pool with rubber ducks and also the love heart lolly pop which the artist is holding. The artist is shown to be in the centre left half of the screen. The body language of the artist is shown to be slightly mischievous and could suggest she is hiding something by the fact she is holding one hand behind her back. The facial expression of the artist is quite serious and is juxtaposed with the innocence and fun that is being projected by the mise en scene.
The other writing used in the advert is in simple white and plain font which shows that this writing is only for informing the readers and not to entertain like the other font used for the artists name. In a smaller font at the lower right quarter of the advert we can see that there is a web address which is for the Katy Perry official fan page. The inclusion of the web address could be used to traffic people to the stars page to get more exposer.
The mise en scene of the advert is quite idealistic as there is the white picket fence and a paddling pool with the accent of a perfectly neat garden, which is sometimes referred to as 'The American Dream' this is a juxtaposition with the text of the advert as the title of the hit song 'I Kissed A Girl' is the opposite of the idealistic American Dream. The star was brought up in a very Christian environment and taught that homosexuality was an abomination this hit single could be seen as a rebellious act which could be highlighted by the mischievous look shown on the artists face in the advert. The white and plain font used for all of the information could be related to the white picket fence as it is plain and simple and idealistic.
Recce Shots 3
This is a shot of the two actors used in the music video.
This is a shot of the main star of our music video sat at the table at our restaurant location.
This shot was taken during filming so shows the characters in the middle of acting.
